Medical store closed after seizing narcotic drugs from two persons

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 March 2023 : A medical store in Kalimpong is closed and its licence is suspended. According to the Kalimpong Police, Sai Medical Store of Thana Danra is closed down by the concerned department and its licence is also suspended after proper enquire for two months.
It is reminded that on 22 December 2022 Kumar Darjee of Bagdhara was arrested on 22 December 2022 by Kalimpong Police with huge quantity of banned narcotic drugs. a. On getting a tip off from the public, Darjee was arrested from a location near Kanchan Medical and recovered huge quantity of banned narcotics drugs.
On further examination the team arrested Kimat Singh of Printam Road and during the raid banned narcotics was seized from his possession.
Both were arrested and produced before the court. During the interrogation it was found that the drugs were supplied by the Sai Medical Store. After continuous pursuance by Kalimpong Police the licence of the medical store has been suspended by the concerned authorities and the shop is closed down.
Kalimpong Police has requested all medical shop owners not to engage themself in illicit trade of narcotic drugs.
Earlier some days ago it had arrested Rajat Lahabar of 10th mile with substantial amount of Brown Sugar.
Earlier Kalimpong Police intercepted one Scooty and detained 2 persons Ruben Mangrati and Abhishek Shah both of Rabangla, South Sikkim and recovered and seized huge quantity of contraband "PROXYCO-SPAS" capsules.
Acting on an information passed by a citizen, one Sudhir Prasad Gupta of Pakyong Bazar, East Sikkim was arrested in this month with huge quantity of Brown Sugar.
